Gospel Soup Ministry at Walker Memorial Baptist Church
Food insecurity is a pressing crisis in our community, and Walker Memorial Baptist Church is dedicated to providing relief through our Gospel Soup Ministry. Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., we offer free food in the form of soup and sandwiches to those in need. Our distribution takes place in front of our church at 2020 13th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20009. We invite anyone facing food insecurity to attend and receive a nourishing meal. Please share this information with others who may benefit from this service. Additionally, we are seeking four volunteers for each Wednesday to help us in this mission.
Walker Memorial Baptist Church Grocery Giveaway Program
Walker Memorial Baptist Church (WMBC) is proud to partner with Capital Area Food Bank to support families facing food insecurity. Our Grocery Giveaway Program provides essential groceries to families in need on every 1st Wednesday and 3rd Thursday of the month, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families in our community are invited to email us at info@walkerbaptistdc.org to request groceries and collect their food during the designated times. This program aims to ensure that no family goes hungry and everyone has access to nutritious food.
Throughout the year we seek for volunteers to assist in administering this initiative.
